Light up your pumpkins

Leave it to Martha Stewart....for a link on how to construct this awesome idea click here

some people who have tried it recommend using a foam pumpkin...might be worth a shot since the foam pumpkin can be reused and it wont shrivel up....regardless, this is a great picture and idea.

Obsessing over pom pom puff's right now

Can we say fabulous? I am a touch obsessed with Halloween this year - I'm pretty sure I have class that night but it's fine. I just picked up a bunch of black tissue paper from the dollar store this afternoon and kicked off the weekend with crafty hour....by making black puff's like the one's shown above....now I'm going to pick up some orange tissue paper and also incorporate some newsprint to the pom pom puff's as well for an extra festive strand! The best part about this project is, it's not messy, and you don't have to be perfect. Click here for instructions on how to make the pom pom puffs xo

Happy Fall!

Happy Fall! I saw this sign on Kaboodle and thought it was such a great idea.

French Apartments

I thought this apartment was dreamy, it was done by the French Company Hand Lyon, I especially like the monochromatic palate....

The all white palate reminds me of iconic interior designer Syrie Maghaum....

Puss n' Boots

Fall is right around the corner and I am loving the new boot trends that are out this season. Boots are such an important staple in our fall and winter wardrobe. Here are some of my favorites....some are really expensive, but beautiful to admire and draw inspiration from.

Kamik has many styles of wellies at an affordable price....it's kind of like wellie central. There are so many patterns and colors to choose from. When boot shopping I tend to go for wedge heeled boots and/or boots with a wider calf.  I like wedge boots because they feel more comfortable and I can wear them longer. Wider calf boots, create a better look when wearing them over pants or leggings. Most importantly, make sure your new boots are not only fabulous but functional.

Happy shopping! xo

The Flintstone House

A familiar sight since I was a child – For over 35 years the “Flintstone House” aka the “Mushroom House," has been a daily landmark for many Bay Area residents driving on 280. When I was a kid, I would get so excited knowing that the Flintstone House was coming up. Seeing the house was always such an exciting part of our journey. At one time it was white, then a yellow color, now it’s burnt orange, reminiscent of the mid 1970’s, when the home was built. The South brother’s built the home; they are credited for coming up with the “spray in place” method for Monolithic Dome structures. The materials used to construct the dome were, concrete, rebar, wire mesh, and putty formed over an aeronautical balloon to get the domed shape; the concept of using the balloon to create the dome shape was developed by architect, William Nicholson. Display Your Badge Collection

What a great idea. The collection of badges my hubby and I collected over the years from shows and what have you are sitting in a jar in our storage room. This is the perfect way to keep your collection and display pleasant memories and it's totally budget friendly. The badges are affixed to a canvas in the shape of a heart, before putting the badges on the canvas you can paint it white (or whatever color you choose) and fix the badges on there, I would do a mock up first and then either pin through the canvas or glue. You can then find a thicker display frame to put your piece in. You can click on the links at the bottom of the pic for more information on assembling. xo
